The missing chip

Vanity of vanities,” says the Preacher; “Vanity of vanities, all is vanity. - Eccl 1:2

So, it's story time and I had someone drop this by............

Once upon a time, I attended another “Christian” private university in... There were four of us in a room – two nerds and two ordinary guys. I was known as Italian. The other nerd was known as Photoshop. The other two were Jimmy and Butta. Jimmy loved to play Pro Evolution Soccer. However, his laptop wasn't fast enough to play the game smoothly. One day, as I returned from class in the afternoon, I opened my door and found three huge security men in the room. They ordered us to open our lockers for a thorough search. They didn't find what they were looking for and left. After the search, I found out what had happened. The previous night, Photoshop used his 17 inch Toshiba laptop 2GB ram for work. However, the next morning, his laptop was so sluggish he ran some diagnostics. He discovered that 2GB had become 1GB. How come?
Photoshop immediately called Jimmy and asked him to return his RAM. Jimmy denied taking the RAM and laughed at Photoshop. A slight argument ensued and Jimmy asked Photoshop to do his worst. Unfortunately for Jimmy, Photoshop didn't keep quiet. He reported the case and things escalated. After the search, Jimmy panicked and placed the missing 1GB ram chip in Butta’s locker. Butta found the chip and handed it over to Photoshop. Again, Photoshop wouldn't let things alone. He called the school’s security and told them that his own RAM chip was different. I thought Photoshop was crazy but I was wrong. A Tech expert from the security team opened Jimmy’s laptop. Turns out that RAM chips have serial numbers. And the one found in Jimmy’s laptop matched with the one in Photoshop’s laptop. The next day, Jimmy’s father came to the school. He had a talk the guidance counselor - a woman. That evening, my roommates and I were summoned to her office. She kept us waiting for a long time. She finally let us in but us kept standing like armed-robbery suspects. She studied our faces as though trying to reveal the truth locked deep in our souls. Then she asked a simple question. “Do you know who the thief is?” The question was simple, harmless and it seemed like she really wanted to dig to the bottom of the situation. You see, in that school, theft of laptops, clothes... routinely got people expelled. Therefore, I assumed that this time, justice would be served. I stepped forward to speak with confidence. I said, “I do.” I turned and pointed to Jimmy. I said, “Jimmy took it but he didn't intend to steal it. He just wanted a night of fast game play but forgot to return it back before morning. Also, instead of apologizing, he…” “Stop right there!” I stopped. I was shocked, wondering what I’d done wrong. She adjusted herself on her rolling armchair and then glared at me with large eyes from behind her spectacles. She asked me, “Do you know what slander is?” At that moment, the purpose of the meeting became clear to me. “No,” I lied. Peering at me like a judge, she told me, “Slander is when you say something false about another person to damage the person’s reputation.” We all remained silent. “Slander is a serious offense.” She continued. “It’s punishable with ...weeks of suspension. Therefore, I don’t spreading false rumors about this gentleman here. Do you understand?” I replied, “Yes.” “Now, you can all go.” As we walked out of the office, my eyes opened. Corruption is everywhere - even in Christian schools.

It's good to note that for every religious setting, there is someone opposing the gathering in their heart:

" When Jesus had said these things, He was troubled in spirit, and testified and said, “Most assuredly, I say to you, one of you will betray Me.” - John 13:21

But we need to obey God despite the fact that places we tend to worship or believe in could be slightly polluted.

You who are young, be happy while you are young, and let your heart give you joy in the days of your youth. Follow the ways of your heart and whatever your eyes see, but know that for all these things God will bring you into judgment. 10 So then, banish anxiety from your heart and cast off the troubles of your body, for youth and vigor are meaningless. - Eccl 12:9-10

The book of Ecclesiastes is one I think every young person should go through, well if you don't know where to start reading your bible from, I think its a good start.

Happy Easter!!! Have a lovely week. God bless
